Abigail Meglich – Mexico

Mission Tarahumara

“I received my calling to be a missionary midwife when I was eleven years old. The journey hasn’t been seamless, but I have been trying to walk forward in that calling ever since. After training in the Philippines to become a midwife, God called me to serve among an unreached people group in Mexico. He has called me to use my medical training as a tangible way to communicate His love to the hurting and vulnerable; to tell a people held captive by the Enemy that there is a God who came to give them life and life abundant. I am believing for the day when there will exist a body of believers among this people group. Together I believe that we will see that day dawning soon. Thank you for your prayers and support!”

Nathaniel & Amber – North Central Asia

Nathaniel and Amber, along with their three children, are responding to God’s call and will be taking the gospel to North Central Asia. This area of the world is highly atheistic and unreached with the gospel. The population is less than one percent Christian and there are no missionaries presently serving among the people they desire to reach.

Nathaniel and Amber plan on engaging people through the use of Discovery Bible Studies (DBS). DBS is an effective way of multiplying disciples who make disciples by recounting the stories of the Bible and having open dialogue about the stories. This is a great tool for building relationships and introducing non-Christians to the good news. DBS helps people discover truth and encounter Jesus Christ.

Nathaniel and Amber have joined the mission organization Act Beyond (beyond.org). The vision of the organization is to catalyze movements to transform unreached people groups – where obedient disciples make obedient disciples and reproducing churches start reproducing churches – making Jesus known while transforming lives, relationships and communities.

Jacob & Carmen Geyman – Tanzania

After growing up in North Idaho, Jacob obtained his commercial pilot and aircraft-mechanic licenses at Letourneau University in Longview, Texas. Carmen, raised in rural Pennsylvania, spent five years learning and teaching midwifery at Newlife International School of Midwifery in Davao City, Philippines. It was there that she met Jacob’s sister who introduced her to Jacob in 2009. They were married in 2010.

Since then, they have had two boys, Silas and Jason. After Jacob obtained his Bachelor’s in Aeronautical Science in Texas, they spent six months in Botswana, Africa, where Jacob worked with a mission organization doing aircraft maintenance. Since then, they have been working with JAARS, a Bible translation support ministry, to go back to the mission field.

Jacob and Carmen are progressing toward fulfilling their assignment with Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) in Tanzania under JAARS. JAARS enables Wycliffe/SIL Bible translators to accomplish their translation work through providing viable and efficient means of transportation and logistical support. Many times a short flight will save translators days of dangerous and grueling travel in the rural areas of underdeveloped countries.

They plan on beginning JAARS orientation in January, 2016, in anticipation of transitioning to Tanzania by the end of the summer of 2016. Jacob will be providing transportation to Bible translators with a Cessna 206. Carmen is anticipating working with mothers and infants through midwifery.
